Unforgettable Chinese New Year Celebration: A Day of Surprises for our Students!

Vibrant lanterns and dazzling decorations adorned the hallways as students from both Saturday and weekday programs joyfully celebrated Chinese New Year with charm, laughter, and educational excitement. The festivities honored and cherished the festival's rich traditions with pride.

Students dived into activities that celebrated their cultural heritage, including specially designed games that captured the essence of Chinese New Year.

Upper Grades: A Test of Speed and Knowledge

The celebration kicked off with a relay race for upper-grade students. Teams raced against the clock while answering questions about the traditions of Chinese New Year. Each eagerly awaited their turn, excited not just to win but also to showcase their knowledge of this vibrant celebration.

This combination of physical activity and intellectual challenge fostered enthusiasm and camaraderie among the students. Witnessing their excitement as they cheered each other on was truly heartwarming. The relay race was not just a display of speed; it was also a testament to teamwork and sportsmanship, embodying the festive spirit of the holiday.

Lower Grades: Creative and Interactive Fun

While the upper grades were racing, the lower grades immersed themselves in a world of creativity and playful learning through a series of thoughtfully designed activities. Each classroom was filled with laughter and joy as children engaged in hands-on experiences that connected them to the rich cultural practices surrounding the New Year.

运福气 - Ping Pong Ball Race

A highlight of the activities was "运福气." In this game, students meticulously moved ping pong balls from one station to another with spoons. This activity not only tested their speed but also demanded balance and accuracy. Every precise movement embodied the essence of good fortune, perfectly capturing the New Year's spirit.

巧手剪春 - Spring Cut-Outs

In another corner of the celebration, beautiful paper cutouts were crafted during "巧手剪春." Here, young hands learned to cut out traditional Chinese characters like "春" (Spring). This hands-on activity not only enhanced their fine motor skills but also introduced them to traditional crafts, allowing them to take home personalized decorations symbolizing their hopes for the New Year.

投壶纳财 - Pitching Wealth

"投壶纳财" was an activity where students tried to throw small objects into jars, symbolizing wealth and prosperity.

福气满满 - Shooting Red Envelopes

The "福气满满" event featured children aiming at targets to shoot red envelopes adorned with festive designs. This game honored the tradition of exchanging red envelopes, a practice thought to bring good fortune and joy.

门口新年打卡墙 - Photo Wall

To wrap up the celebrations, a photo wall was set up at the entrance, providing everyone the opportunity to capture happy memories against a stunning backdrop of Chinese New Year decorations.

A Celebration to Remember

In conclusion, as part of the vibrant Chinese New Year festivities, students received a traditional red envelope, or "hongbao," symbolizing good fortune and prosperity, and good luck candies representing joy and happiness. These gifts embody the New Year celebrations, fostering community, joy, and hope. The celebration for students was enchanting, combining fun, education, and cultural appreciation, highlighting community essence. Students engaged in activities that deepened their understanding of the event's significance. Here's to more celebrations filled with joy, learning, and community spirit, with stories cherished for years to come.
