First Sichuan Culture Immersion Program for Chinese American Youth

We are deeply honored to have been invited to participate in the inaugural Sichuan Culture Immersion Program for Chinese American Youth. This remarkable initiative, co-organized by the Chinese Embassy in the United States and the Sichuan Overseas Friendship Association, offers an unforgettable ten-day journey designed to give students an immersive experience of Sichuan’s rich and diverse cultural heritage.

Throughout the program, our students visited iconic cities such as Chengdu, Deyang, Zigong, Leshan, and Meishan, each known for its unique contribution to the cultural fabric of Sichuan and had the incredible opportunity to explore the region through a variety of hands-on experiences. These included riding China’s high-speed trains, crafting traditional palace lanterns, painting New Year artworks, cooking Sichuan’s famous cuisine, practicing martial arts, and witnessing the mesmerizing performances of Sichuan opera.

The Sichuan Culture Immersion Program has offered our students not just a window into their ancestral heritage, but also an opportunity to connect more deeply with the culture that shapes modern China.
